We Can't Do It With Out You!
Volunteers are the backbone of TRA's successful program. Therapeutic riding requires 3 volunteers for each rider and we depend completely on volunteers from the community to conduct a safe and fun program.
To be a volunteer, you have to be at least 16 years old and have an interest in working with horses or children and adults with different abilites.
Under the supervision of the instructor, volunteers assist in lessons, grooming and special events. Our volunteers tack the horses, lead the horses through lessons or walk along side the horse and rider.
Though many volunteers have experience with horses or have worked with people with disabilities, neither is a prerequisite.
We provide a volunteer training program at the start of each year and informal training is done by our instructors through out each session.
The gift of your time is priceless. You can make a difference in the lives of some very special people.
